I Built a Job-Scraping Bot to Escape Cloud Consulting (And It's Open Source)

TL;DR: A software engineer automated their job-hunting pipeline to combat burnout and improve outcomes. They built an open-source Python tool to scrape, filter, and rank tech roles, delivering daily results to Telegram and boosting interview chances. The author applied to dozens of tech roles while juggling a full-time job and a homelab, facing low response rates and burnout from manual outreach. To fix this, they created job-digest, a Python pipeline that scrapes job boards, filters by their stack (Go, Kubernetes, Cilium/eBPF, multi-cloud, security), ranks roles by match quality, and sends a daily summary to Telegram. The project helped them land interviews with desired companies and taught them more about web scraping, async Python, and data pipelines. The code is open-source and invites collaboration from others in tech-job hunting. Question for the room: What parts of your own job-hunt automation would you like to share or improve based on your experience with this project? — via dev.to
