Built a Flask-based short-link HTTP service that creates short codes for valid HTTP/HTTPS URLs, redirects users with a deliberate 302 response, and tracks redirect counts. The service provides endpoints for creating links, following links, and viewing statistics. Invalid URLs return 400 with an error identifying the url field, unknown codes return 404, and submitting the same URL twice returns the existing short code instead of creating a duplicate. The README documents the API, validation behavior, duplicate handling, and the reasoning behind using 302 redirects. Automated tests cover creation, redirects, counting, malformed input, unknown codes, and duplicate submissions, with all 7 tests passing. The deployed API is available at the live demo URL above.
