RunsOnMac — Weekly Changelog

This week brought one of the biggest updates to RunsOnMac so far, with major changes across the design, benchmark system, game discovery, filtering, performance recommendations, and overall data structure.
🎨 Major Redesign
* Introduced a new neutral, dark RunsOnMac design across the entire platform.
* Unified the visual style of the Catalog, Benchmarks, About, Macs, Tests, and developer pages.
* Improved navigation, responsive layouts, and theme switching.
* Added public benchmark report pages.
* Returned to the clean neutral-black background after testing a multicolor gradient.
📊 Benchmark System
* Migrated benchmark submissions to the native Lovable/Supabase flow.
* Simplified submission fields and improved validation and security logic.
* Added community-driven performance targets for 30 FPS, 60 FPS, and Best Quality.
* Performance recommendations are now based exclusively on verified community benchmark reports.
🎮 Game Catalog & Cards
* Expanded Game Cards with more useful information.
* Introduced horizontal game categories and desktop pagination.
* Improved how Steam data and covers are handled across cards and game detail pages.
* Stabilized the Big Picture trailer experience: covers now remain visible until the trailer actually starts playing.
🔍 Filters & Safari Improvements
* Reworked the filtering flow into a clearer sequence, from Mac selection to preferred game mode.
* Added more compact FPS targets and improved dropdown indicators.
* Fixed Safari-specific select/dropdown rendering issues for better browser consistency.
🖼️ New Header Experience
* Redesigned the main header with rotating game artwork.
* Added a larger single-line headline, updated slogan, and revised supporting text.
* Improved the overall first impression while keeping the interface focused on finding Mac game performance quickly.
🗄️ Backend & Data
* Stabilized the Google Sheets synchronization before removing it entirely.
* Lovable/Supabase is now the primary data foundation for RunsOnMac.
* Reduced unnecessary synchronization complexity and cleaned up the underlying project structure.
🔧 General Improvements
* Disabled the previous maintenance view.
* Added the new About page.
* Improved responsive behavior and consistency throughout the website.
* Completed build, structure, and code-quality checks successfully.
